Walking to Upopoy

Upopoy is about a ten-minute walk (about 500m) from the North Exit of JR Shiraoi Station.

*Please be careful of traffic, including moving vehicles around crosswalks and the entrance to Upopoy.

Arriving at Upopoy

Follow road signs for Upopoy to get from Route 36 or Route 86 to Parking 1 along the route indicated by the red arrows in the diagram above. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, please enter the parking lot by turning left, turning right into the parking lot is not possible during peak traffic periods.
Visitors may be directed to Parking 2, located about 0.5 km from the Upopoy, in order to ease congestion or when Parking 1 is full during busy periods such as Golden Week. Please follow any directions from members of staff.

Leaving Upopoy

In order to reduce congestion on the roads around the level crossing near Upopoy, Please turn right after leaving Parking 1.
When leaving Parking 2, turn left, then turn right at the T-junction. Continue straight for about 2km to reach the intersection.

• These routes are designed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and may differ from those suggested by satellite navigation systems.
• Refrain from cutting in line, parking on the street, and from using parking areas of facilities other than Upopoy.

Parking spaces

• Inside of parkCar Parking 1: 246 spaces, 500 yen per visit
  *Motorcycles: 10 spaces, free of charge (motorcycles with a width exceeding 90cm will be charged the regular car rate of 500 yen per visit)
• Outside of park Car Parking 2: 311 spaces, 500 yen per visit
  Bicycle parking
  Coach Parking 1: 50 spaces, 2,000 yen per visit （1,000 yen for minibuses）
  Coach Parking 2: 38 spaces, 2,000 yen per visit （1,000 yen for minibuses）

Entry to the parking lots is available from  8:30am until one hour before Upopoy closes.

Vehicles that exceed a height of 2 m, length of 5 m, width of 1.9 m and/or weight of 2 t should use coach parking.

Parking is free for vehicles used by or carrying visitors with disabilities. Please show a disability certificate or other proof of disability at the ticket desk to receive a voucher for one vehicle. (This offer excludes coach parking.)

Parking is free for additional visits on the same day.

If you are returning for another visit on the same day, show your parking receipt or parking details from your first visit at the ticket desk of the Entrance Center and then give your parking stub to a staff member. Please be aware that you cannot receive free parking without your parking receipt or parking details from your first visit.
